The project “Tunnelling Strandvej Copenhagen” comprises the establishment of an approx. 1.4 km long rainwater tunnel in the depth of about 11 meters and with an inner pipe dimension of Ø1600 m in the beginning 850 m, where after the pipe dimension increases to Ø2000 m.

 

Furthermore, the contract includes the establishment of 7 construction pits, which party will be used for permanent structures for the entire rainwater system. The construction pits are located at each end of the tunnel pipe and will be executed and used as pressure and receiver pits for the micro tunnelling.

 

The permanent structures at the end of the Lille Strandvej shall function as a pumping station and overflow structure for the rainwater. From the pumping station will be established a 250 m long discharge pipe in to the Øresund, which partly will be executed with directional drilling, partly with excavation under water.
